What would happen if humanity evolved in harmony and understood everything surrounding it? What would happen if the legends of many people, including the Ladini, where people could transform into trees, rain, or marmots, were true? ‘The bark people’ can transform into anything from the plant realm and know their every power and feels all their emotions. The tribe is named after a tree’s bark because they practice an everyday ritual to commune with nature: they submerge physically and spiritually into trees – people and trees are in constant mimesis and mitosis. This story is a seed which is both past and future, a tale which makes a utopia possible.

Exhibit place Chi Jus

Chi Jus’ sun-kissed forests and meadows have bene used for forestry, agriculture, and farming animals for centuries. The last two continued until the mid-20th century and were the main streams of income for Val Badia. Even in the early 1970s over half of the income of the locals came from agriculture and provided jobs for over 1,000 families. Today it’s half that.
