Stefano Cagol

The artist Stefano Cagol has placed an artificial rock in a mountain meadow. His work is a reproduction of a stone in fiberglass and it blends perfectly into the landscape. It is an ancient practice to mark borders with rocks (boundary stones) and the artwork aims to identifying the unnaturalness and deception of borders: ”A fake stone to mark artificial borders," explains the artist. The irony implied in this metaphor invites the viewer to reflect on the inconsistency and artificiality of borders drawn by man.

On the highest spot of the Monte Muro at 2332 meters hikers arriving from Antermëia, Rina e Luson meet. Sometimes the least known places that offer a very unique view. Here we also find the border between the municipalities of Luson, San Martino and Marebbe.
