Homestead - a word for a house with a plot of land around it - is the title of a composition of coloured sweaters placed on the ground in a harmonious synthesis. For ten years now, the artist has been collecting pullovers of people she has known throughout her life and which, for this work, she has stitched together. Every single piece represents a piece of life, a significant relationship, and the artist, just like a painter would, places them on the ground.
Exposed to the elements, within a few months they will fade and we will move from an initial state of chromatic contrast to the establishment of a symbiosis with the surrounding meadow. This carpet invites you to realise the plurality of facets that contribute to the construction and definition of Heimat which can materialise in one place, but it is above all an emotion that is established in sharing, in the common experience interwoven between different lives and cultures; it is a feeling that creates a sense of belonging.
Exhibit place Chi Jus
On the highest spot of the Monte Muro at 2332 meters hikers arriving from Antermëia, Rina e Luson meet. Sometimes the least known places that offer a very unique view. Here we also find the border between the municipalities of Luson, San Martino and Marebbe.
