SMACH presents the second day of cultural events of the season, made possible - like the evening of July 31st - thanks to a double collaboration: the first with Longega Project, and the second with Zelig - School for Documentary, Television and New Media.

In the morning there will be a guided tour of the SMACH Val dl’Ert, with an entry fee for adults and free admission for children under 14.

Experiential and performative-musical
In the afternoon, Longega Project - an artist-run space based between the nearby Val Badia town and Munich - has designed the experiential and performative-musical event “Was weiß Wasser, Wasser weiß was”.

It begins with an experience offered by Youlee Ku's artwork, which takes the form of a tasting of waters from different regions around the world. While until a few years ago water was considered a freely accessible resource, today it has become a commodity whose value fluctuates between an everyday consumer good and a luxury product. By comparing glacier, groundwater, and mineral waters, the public is invited to reflect on the value of an essential resource that, from a common good, has increasingly transformed into a market commodity.
The second part of the event is “Weiches Wasser”, a musical performance by Die Dritte Zeit, a storytelling duo based in Munich. The synthesizer and electric guitar soundtrack serves as the backdrop for telling myths and micro-stories related to freshwater environments.
A light dinner based on voluntary donations will follow.
Screenings, in collaboration with Zelig
Two presentations for the screenings organized by SMACH and Zelig - School for Documentary, Television and New Media will begin. “Ape Maria” will be presented by director Greta Mentzel, editor Pia Profanter, and sound engineer Harald Erschbaumer, followed by the screening of the short film “Pygmalia” by director Jonathan Bugiel.

The first film follows two sixteen-year-olds from South Tyrol, Andreas and Platzer, for whom the (Piaggio) Ape is their vehicle for independence and freedom. But the three-wheeler is also a cult object. They have to “tinker” with it whenever they have a free minute and customize it to their liking. Ape Maria guides the viewer through various episodes in the lives of the two protagonists to paint a complete picture.
Jonathan Bugiel's “Pygmalia” tells the journey of a marble block from the South Tyrolean Alps to the hands of an artist. Under her delicate touch, the stone begins to take on increasingly human features. An authentic quest for beauty and perfection - a sculptural impulse snatched from time and space, frozen for eternity, and exposed for all to see.
